Hello readers or just to myself, good morning and I hope you're doing ok this morning. Well, let's start this blog now. So this past Sunday, February 2, 2023, I took my morning shot or my evening shot. The evening is more plausible due to the fact I have to give myself loveknox inj 2x a day once in the morning and once at night before I head to bed. Anyway getting off the subject, since I gave my shot on my right leg I decided to use my left leg since my right looked a tab bit swollen. Followed protocol when injecting yourself and everything seemed fine. No blood or anything appeared but out of habit I always use a band-aid after injecting myself so that one, I can remember if I gave myself the injection at all, lupus brain fog, and two just in case it did start to bleed it will not get on my bed sheets. Ok so for those of you wondering do you sleep with clothes on the answer is yes. It depends on what I am wearing shorts or long pants either way I don't want to get it on my clothes because blood stains are hard to get out of clothes. Hope that helps. Now, back to the story. So Monday when it is time for my morning injection I noticed after taking the band-aid off it was a little sore no reason to be suspicious of it. Gave myself the injection in my right leg and thought nothing of it. In the evening time, I had my daughter give me a shot in my arm because both legs felt a little sore. Went to bed once again did not think too much of anything went to bed as usual. On Tuesday the 7 of February, the little sore spot turned into a big ball and was red now. My kids would poke at it and make fun of it I started to joke around like imagine if it were an infection my youngest son said then go to the hospital I can go with you. Side note he is my little worry wart. Anytime anything should happen to me he is like let's go the doctor or let's go to the hospital to find out was is wrong. He is so sweet and I love him for that. I told him if it gets worse I would go to urgent care. The next day comes and now it got bigger and worse than before. And now it became painful to the touch. Now it was SERIOUS in my eyes. So I took a shower and had my oldest do my hair and was on my way to go to urgent care because hospitals do not take you unless it is serious or you are halfway dying and still they make you wait. So give myself and shot and off to urgent care I go. Go fill out the paperwork and I'm taken to the back rather quickly. I believe there was only one person that was already in a room when I went to exam room 2. The doctor took about 10 mins before he entered the room. I had my history out on my phone from when I was a patient at mount Sinai before they no longer accepted my insurance. So he gets my history and asked why I went in today. I explained to him the situation and he told me to take my pants off before he examined me left the room and gave me a cloth to cover my bottom half. Came back in about 5 mins later and checked it out and said, yup it is an infection. Asked if I had any fevers and did they travel, the red mark, up my leg, or anywhere else. It was not warm to the touch, but it did hurt a little bit. So to finally end this story it was an infection and thank goodness I went in because if push came to shove I could have gotten sepsis or it could have affected my heart. So amoxicillin is an antibiotic but that is more for stuff like the flu since this was unknown he prescribed another antibiotic called doxycycline mono he told me to take it 7-10 days and that is one of the many stories that happened to me. Just giving information out you do what you want with it.

When I first noticed it on Mon or Tue

At the doctors office getting it checked out on Wed

Yesterday. Doc told me to make a circle to see the progress

How it looks today. Major improvement.
